Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.
Hours are published for 3 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8:30 amβ1 pm. It is closed on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (478) 746-4578. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, davisdentalcarega.com.

Macon is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Macon follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I would not recommend this dental office. I booked an appointment for August 18 after explicitly telling the receptionist I needed a biopsy, having already had X-rays and a referral from my regular dentist. She put me on hold, confirmed the doctor could perform one, and I scheduledβeven though they were out of networkβbecause I was worried and didn't want to wait until my oral surgeon appointment in late September. When I arrived, I waited 30 minutes in the lobby and another 10 in the exam room. Dr. Porter was kind, but after looking at my mouth, she simply referred me to another oral surgeonβexactly what I already had. I explained what I was told, and she said she had to refer me. I don't blame the doctor; I blame the receptionist for misleading me. What made it worse: during check-out, the receptionist clearly lacked proper training. She repeatedly needed a dental assistant to help her navigate the computer system just to complete basic tasks. If she couldn't handle the software, how could she be trusted to relay accurate clinical information? After the appointment, I called to speak with a manager. I left a voicemail and also sent a text message, but received no response. I

I had an excellent experience at Davis Dental Care. This was my second visit, and once again I was very impressed. Jessica was incredibly gentle and thorough, and she did a fantastic job with scaling and polishing. I can already see a noticeable improvement, with no plaque and much better overall dental hygiene. Dr. Porter also carefully examined my teeth and provided valuable recommendations. She is really an outstanding dentist. I highly recommend their team!

βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ First time visit for a cleaning and checkup and it could not have gone smoother. They were on time, professional, and very organized from start to finish. The hygienist did an excellent job with the cleaning β thorough, gentle, and no βoopsiesβ at all. Dr Porter The dentist came in afterward, carefully reviewed everything, explained any follow-up care or concerns clearly, and made the whole experience comfortable and stress-free. Without question, this was one of the top 2 or 3 dental visits Iβve had in my entire 60 years. Highly recommend! Amazing first visit! I highly recommend Davis Dental of Macon, GA!
